To ensure seamless management and effective coordination during the Ambubachi Mela 2026, the Assam government has deployed 24 Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers for the prestigious annual pilgrimage at Kamakhya Devalaya in Guwahati, scheduled from June 21 to June 26, 2026.
The officers have been directed to report to Swapneel Paul, IAS, District Commissioner of Kamrup, on June 21 to oversee various administrative, logistical, and public service arrangements during one of the country’s largest religious congregations.
The specially designated team comprises officers from multiple districts and subdivisions, including Ashish Kalita, Ayaz Tanvir Alam, Yambem Anand Singha, Polash Borah, Bhaskar Jyoti Mazumdar, Krishnesha Bora, Suhel Yasir, Mrigakshee Sarmah, Debarshee Talukdar, Smritashree Baruah, Suparna Dey, Nabajyoti Nath, N. Ranabir Singha, Dipu Das, Bharjil Kalita, Hrishiraj Das, Bidisha Borah, Ruchi Awasthy, Nabajit Bhagawati, Souravjyoti Deuri, Anupam Das, Fami Mushahary, Deepshikha Doley, and Raben Deury.
The deployment underscores the Assam government’s commitment to ensuring smooth crowd management, safety measures, pilgrim assistance, and uninterrupted coordination during the revered spiritual event. Every year, the Ambubachi Mela attracts lakhs of devotees, saints, and tourists from across India and abroad, making it one of the most significant religious gatherings in the Northeast.
