OMC records strong growth in Iron Ore Output, eyes new production record in FY 2025–26

The Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) has reported a robust increase in mineral production during FY 2025–26, positioning itself for a potential all-time production record. As of 31 December 2025, OMC produced 24.88 million tonnes (MT) of Iron Ore, exceeding output recorded during the same period last year. Overall mineral production, including Iron Ore, Chrome Ore, Bauxite, and other minerals, stood at 29.03 MT.

OMC’s performance in Q3 of FY 2025–26 further highlights this upward trend, with total production reaching 12.94 MT, reflecting a 31.5% growth compared to 9.84 MT in Q3 of FY 2024–25. The quarter’s output comprised 11.23 MT of Iron Ore, 0.49 MT of Chrome Ore, 1.15 MT of Bauxite, and 0.07 MT of other minerals.

The growth has been driven by optimised mining operations, technology-led systems such as the Logistics Management System (LMS) and Fleet Management System (FMS), and a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability. With continued momentum in the fourth quarter, OMC is on track to achieve the highest-ever mineral production in its history, reinforcing its role in Odisha’s industrial and economic development.
