A major reshuffle has taken place in the Tamil Nadu police setup, with several IPS officers receiving new postings. Key appointments include Ara Arularasu as SP, ATS, Chennai, Arun Balagopalan as SP, IPR Enforcement Cell, Chennai, and Sujit Kumar as DCP, Koyambedu, Greater Chennai.
Other notable postings include E T Samson as SP, CIU (Prohibition Offences), Ashish Rawat as SP, EOW, and K Feroze Khan Abdullah as DCP, Avadi. Additionally, Mrs S Vimala, Dr Bhukya Sneha Priya, Ms Ayman Jamal, Vivekananda Shukla, R Uthayakumar, and several others have been reassigned across districts and specialized units.
This reshuffle reflects the state’s strategy to bolster law enforcement and streamline regional command structures.
In a separate set of appointments, six senior IPS officers have been assigned new leadership roles. Dr Mahender Kumar Rathod and Praveen Kumar Abhinapau will serve as IGP, Headquarters, O/o DGP/HoPF, Chennai.
B Shamoodeswari has been posted as IG, Social Justice and Human Rights, while Anil Kumar Giri has taken charge as Commissioner of Police, Salem City.
Mrs N Devarani and Dr G Dharmarajan have been appointed as DIGs of Kancheepuram Range and Vellore Range, respectively.
