The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC, Act against then Chief Vigilance Officer of BCCL,Dhanbad in a disproportionate assets case. The then CVO, Prashant Kumar Sinha, presently posted as commissioner, customs and central excise here was booked on the charge of corruption after he allegedly amassing illegal assets. It was alleged that during the period from 01.04.2009 to 31.03.2015, he amassed huge assets (both movable and immovable) which were disproportionate to his known source of income to the tune of Rs. 71,09,612/- (approx.).

It was further alleged that the accused was involved in illegal financial transactions in his name and others, including family members, for possession of assets.

Searches are being conducted today at Gurgaon, New Delhi, Dhanbad & Patna.
